Canada for Christmas
We are trotting up North for a few days to do Christmas Canadian style. This will be our second take at celebrating a holiday together in Canada. Our first 4th of July together we thought we'd take advantage of the day off and head up to Vancouver, BC for some shopping and then evening fireworks. It wasn't until we were waiting to get through the border that in donned on us...Canada probably doesn't celebrate the United State's Independence Day. Oh well, you can't call us stupid, we were still in the lovey-dovey-clouded-from-reality phase. But this time we've got our heads on straight and are certain that they celebrate Christmas in Canada.

'To do' really means 'I'm not doing it'
I've had the exact same to do list for months...and have yet to cross a single thing off of it! Here's a little taste: - Clean out my car - my trunk is so full, I can barely fit my bags in when I go to the grocery store.
- Drop off bags at Goodwill - there is about a five or six square foot patch of garage that is taken up by stuff I keep meaning to take to Goodwill (which I pass three times a week!), but I just can't bring myself to load it up...which also goes back to my last task...I don't have room for it anyways. The pile is growing too...pretty soon Rob won't be able to fit into the garage!
- Clean out the fireplace. It's still full of ashes. And not ashes from logs...it burned my old bills instead of shredding them. I thought it was a great idea, but turns out it made a HUGE mess. Rob was not happy!

This is how I work from home...
-I have slept in 90 minutes later than normal.
-I have washed and dried 8 loads of laundry.
-I have spent 84 minutes chatting online with Raymundo from HP Tech Support over my stupid laptop issue.
-I have filled 3 garbage bags with clothes to donate to Goodwill.
-I have been on 1 work conference call that lasted 2.5 hours.
-I have painted and repainted my nails 3 times. I just couldn't settle on one color (Lincoln Park After Dark, Polar Bare and finally Suzi Says Da!)
-I have cooked and eaten 4 (okay, 6) pieces of turkey bacon.
-I have watched 2.5 episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Season 3.
-I have cleaned 0 bathrooms and it will probably stay that way...for today at least.
-I have answered 17 work emails and 9 personal emails.
Whew, I think I need a break...I will go into the office tomorrow. :)

Tagged: I am...
I am: kind of a goober most of the time.
I think: that if I could just get Rob to visit NYC he would fall in love (ok, 'in like') with it too.
I know: that Rob and I make an excellent team...at Scene It and life in general.
I want: to move somewhere new and exciting. I am just waiting for Rob to agree with me.
I have: five fabulous brothers and I miss them all of the time.
I like: my beat down low and my top laid back. Just kidding, I don't like convertibles, but you gotta admit, those are some catchy lyrics! :)
I dislike: rose scented perfumes and lotions. Oh, and nosy coworkers...they're the WORST!
I hope: that my friends and family know how much I love them, especially since I don't say it very often.
I miss: having my family around.
I fear: that I will never get back to my natural hair color.
I feel: really bummed that we won't be going to Arizona for Thanksgiving anymore!!
I am embarrassed: to admit that I didn't catch much of the Olympics this year. I still heart USA.
I hear: the rain coming down outside...good ol' Seattle weather!
I smell: my Cashmere Mist perfume and pomegranate lip gloss.
I crave: a whole day where I can stay in bed in my pajamas and watch an entire season of 24 straight through. I just got addicted to it and have ordered all of the seasons on Netflix.
I cry: when I get stressed out.
I search: constantly online for the perfect cross-trainer. I think that hope died with the original Adidas Galaxy, RIP.
I wonder: if my fish likes living in my office, or if I should take him home. Maybe I will get him a wife; I bet he'd like that.
I regret: not taking care of my high school friendships. And cutting my hair...bad move!
I love: everything about Rob and then some.
I care: about other people's feelings.
I always: wear flip-flops in the summer (and sometimes year round) if I can get away it.
I am not: a photogenic person.
I laugh: at those funny montages on America's Funniest Videos where people fall down. Now, that's good TV.
I remember: what I wore on my first date with Rob.
I believe: in saying please, thank you and smiling at strangers.
I sing: terribly...really, it's bad!
I dance: swing in the kitchen with Rob on occasion. Yeah, we're super cool!
I don’t always: clean as I go. Really, who does and how is that fun?
I argue: with Rob about getting a puppy...I don't think we can handle one.
I write: thank you notes - always!
I adore: the children's clothing store Janie and Jack.
I win: the puppy argument...so far.
I lose: to the computer most of the time when I play Wii tennis...it makes no sense!! :)
I listen: to movies and Friends on my iPod while at work.
I don’t understand: how I can love babies so much, but be hesitant about having one myself. Someday?!
I can usually be found: at home, work or school...what a bore!
I need: a mani/pedi in a bad way.
I forget: names more often than faces.
I am happy: when I wake up and realize that I still have hours left until my alarm goes off. What can I say? Sleep is important to me...
I Tag: everyone! I look forward to reading everyone elses answers.

Another fun tag
Living in UT getting ready to start my senior year of high school. I forget which job I had at the time. Oh, and I was driving all over in my fun little Toyota Tercel, R.I.P.
5 things on my to-do list today
Laundry
Birthday lunch with some girls from work
Watch Will & Grace DVD's that will arrive today from Netflix
Spend some time on the treadmill
Clean out my car
5 snacks I enjoy
Almonds, string cheese, grape popsicles, peanut M & M's, goldfish crackers
5 bad habits
Whenever I cook I spill all over the stove, I don't dust often enough (I think it's because dusting was always my 'weekly job' growing up and now I am proving something by not doing it???), I shop for things that I don't need and will never use, I constantly leave the computer on all day and overnight, apparently I can be too sarcastic and really need to work on it.
5 places I've lived
Clinton, UT
Redmond, WA
Sammamish, WA
Issaquah, WA
Yreka, CA
5 jobs I've had
ERI - Research Specialist
Bank of America - started as a teller, ended as a manager (which is mostly why I quit...I am NOT management material!)
Bath & Body Works - I only worked there long enough to take advantage of the one time 50% employee discount and then I quit. Shameful, I know...but that really wasn't my plan going in, it just happened to work out that way. I had just moved up to Seattle and started applying for jobs. They hired me on the spot and BOA hired me a week later.
Oshman's - Customer service/cashiering/travel to other stores to set them up for opening.
Citigroup - Account Manager, lots of time on the phone...I don't like spending lots of time on the phone.
My favorite high school job was at Dilly Dally's. I know that is six jobs, but I just couldn't leave this one out! I don't remember exactly why, but I LOVED the polo shirts we had to wear there.
5 things people don't know about me
While my regular penmanship is questionable, I am great at writing backwards - as in, if it were held up to a mirror it would be readable. I don't know why we started it, but my friend Erin and I would write notes back and forth to each other like this in Junior High. Amazingly it stuck around.
I do not take naps. Even when I was younger, I didn't nap. While my brothers were napping my Mom would give me a stack of books and I couldn't come out of my room until I read them all. My poor Mom probably never got a break from me!
When I was about 12 or so I would beg my parents to let me do the grocery shopping for our family by myself. They finally gave in. My Dad would drop me off with a list and blank check, I would do the shopping and he would pick me up an hour later. It sounds really weird, I know. To this day, I don't know why I liked to do it so much, but I was good at it.
I have a large jagged scar that spans the width of my left knee. When I was about eight years old I was playing on the Slip and Slide in our front yard with my brothers and we moved the slide to get optimum slip going and just happened to place it over one of our automatic sprinklers. I got a running start, jumped and started sliding...right over the sprinkler head that sliced through my skin right down to the bone. It was quite disgusting. I got about 20 stitches and had to wear a brace the length of my leg all summer long to keep me from bending my knee and popping the gash back open.
I absolutely cannot sleep without my eye mask. I have to have complete darkness and silence in order to fall asleep. Rob laughs at me and calls me Zorro, but there is nothing funny about it to me. I take my sleep very seriously! :)
5 people I would like to tag
How about anyone and everyone...
Thanks for the tag! I look forward to reading it on other blogs...

Tag!
What's their name? Rob
How long have you been together? Since 2001
How long did you date? Isn’t that the same thing?? Since 2001. Oh, so is this one of those things you can only do if you are married? I should be offended and boycott it right now, but it seems fun, so I will do it anyways. I am such a pushover!
How old are you both? Rob is 36 and I am 27.
Who eats more? I eat more frequently, but he probably eats more. He skips breakfast and sometimes lunch and then makes up for it at the end of the day. I do all three meals usually.
Who said 'I love you' first? I don’t remember…that is bad, right? I am sure that we both said it at the exact same time and then both said JINKS right after and that is how we knew we were perfect for each other. Romantic, huh!
Who is taller? Rob. He is quite the tall drink of water. I am so corny :)
Who sings better? Rob, but only in the car. Some times I catch him singing and I think he has forgotten that I am in the car with him.
Who is smarter? We are both pretty smart, but about completely different things. He know history and dates of wars and things that I am oblivious too, but I am the master speller and whiz of the technical world (kinda, okay not really!)
Who does the laundry? Mostly me, but he helps out sometimes.
Who does the dishes? Dishes? We only know of take out containers, paper plates and plastic utensils. So bad for the environment, I know!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Does that mean if I am looking at the bed who sleeps on the right side, or if I am laying on the bed who is on the right side? I guess it doesn’t really matter since I usually sprawl all over the bed and Rob falls asleep on the couch in front of the TV. Again, I know…we are super romantic!
Who pays the bills? I do, using Rob’s money. He is a great provider and I am a great bill payer. But really, I contribute too!
Who mows the lawn? That is why we still rent…we are too lazy to deal with the yard work.
Who cooks dinner? Cook? Please see the above answer regarding the dishes. We don't really cook, we just eat out a lot. Unless this counts Cup of Noodles…we both make them. Actually Rob makes really good nachos and I have been known to whip up a few things every once in a while.
Who drives when you are together? Usually Rob. He says that I drive like I don’t have anywhere to be and calls me Ms Daisy.
Who is more stubborn? Not sure. We both have our times.
Who kissed who first? Rob definitely kissed me first…I am a lady!
Who asked who out first? Again, that was Rob’s department. And eventually I said yes. How could I turn him down? He just oozes charm!
Who proposed? Proposed what?
Who is more sensitive? That would be me for sure. I am an emotional basket case!
Who has more friends? Rob makes friends with EVERYBODY!! There is never a place we go where Rob isn’t engaging in conversation with everyone. Compared to him I am a loner!
Who has more siblings? Me, of course…6 kids, whoa!
Who wears the pants in the family? Both of us. However, his are slacks and mine are capris. We are equals…
That was fun...thanks for forwarding it to us!
