What to do?

School is out. For EVER the quarter.
I've got a week and half to waste...relax...do something with until I am back in school four nights a week for ten weeks. Again.
All this free time and I've got nothing exciting planned out...but I am working on it.
I am determined to:
  • not let this time off waste away
  • not have sitting around catching up on all the episodes of LOST, Grey's Anatomy and 30 Rock that I've missed be the most exciting thing that I do
  • dig my bike out of the garage and spend some time with it on one of the many trails by our house
  • not freak out about turning 29 next week
  • get in some quality time with The Robster
  • hit a bucket or two of balls at the driving range
  • finally drop off all those boxes marked GOODWILL that have been taking up space in our garage for the past year and a half

If I even get two of these crossed off my list, I will be happy! I know, I know...I am such an under overachiever.

I never thought I'd see the day...

As hard as it is for me to admit it, I have just got to do it.

I am a proud owner of a Snuggie. Not just any Snuggie, a pink Snuggie.

Yep, gag...that's right...a Snuggie.

The Robster gifted it to me (cuz he ♥'s me), and got himself one in blue. I couldn't bring myself to don it though. I tried to fight it for several days, but Rob kept wearing his and he looked so dang warm, while I was just freezing.
Finally the other day he got sick of hearing me whine about being cold so he pulled my pink Snuggie out of the box and wrapped it around me.
No, surprisingly, my flesh didn't burn at the touch. It actually would have purred if it could. Since that moment we've been nearly inseparable, and I don't see our relationship ending any time soon. I just wish he would've gone with something other than pink. ☺

Good in the bad

Me and my bad teeth were lucky enough to have a surprise but necessary visit to an oral surgeon or two.
While it's easier for me to sit home in pain, being ornery and looking swollen, I decided that there are actually a good thing or two that come from the experience...
  • I have awesome insurance that paid for all the visits
  • I get to (or is it have to??) eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next day or two.
  • Since I'm 'sick' the calories from the ice cream don't count, right?
  • I have a job that is flexible and allows me to work from home
  • I now have time to watch the last five episodes of Grey's Anatomy that my DVR has been saving for me
  • Percocet!

So,the silver lining is turning out to be pretty nice. Back to the couch and my scoop of ice cream!

09.09.09

In honor of today's date, 09.09.09, I thought it would be fun for us to go and see the movie 9, but Rob said 'Nein'. Bummer.

Instead I downloaded from iTunes and started watching Season 3 of Ugly Betty while Rob entertained the dog...or vice versa. Yep, we're super cool.
Happy 09.09.09!
P.S. Did anyone actually see the movie? Was it any good?

Sunday = TV Day

With the warm, beautiful sunny weather outside, Rob and I thought that the best way to spend our Sunday was inside, parked in front of our separate televisions catching up on our new favorite series'.

MyHotComments.com

Mine: True Blood. Yes, more vampires. Sounds weird, but really...it's a great show. HBO always has the best series. I am reading the books too, and for once the show is better than the book!

Rob's: House. He was introduced to it by my brother on our trip down to Utah and he has since DVR'd ever possible episode. He was elated to find out that Sunday was a House marathon. He is considering giving up law and applying to med school. Kidding, I hope.

We were social enough to meet up in front of just one television for a brief dinner, then we were back to our assigned televisions to finish up the day (and in my case, the entire series!). Next Sunday we promise to go outside, at least once.

Six Feet Under

I just started getting Six Feet Under from Netflix. It's pretty funny and a touch on the dark side (the family owns and operates a funeral parlor). It's really starting to grow on me...I would definitely recommend it.

I love HBO series; they have yet to do me wrong.
I am a big fan of watching shows that are on DVD rather than weekly on television. I don't have the patience to wait week to week, I'd rather watch them one after another.

Holiday Round Up

My little holiday trip to Utah was fun. I stuck to my usual Utah itinerary...went to a ton of movies (five, actually: Yes Man, Doubt, Seven Pounds, Four Christmases and Twilight...again ), played with nieces and nephews, did a little shopping, and just hung out. Oh, and got scarf-jacked at the airport. Super sad about that still. :( Ironically there was no family game night to be had...maybe next time! And after making a big fuss about finding my camera to take along with me, I didn't end up taking any pictures but we did have a family portrait taken (our first one in over five years!).
I eagerly returned home to Rob with some lovely memories, a great new scarf and a wicked cold. Me, being the incredibly festive person I am, filled up on cold medicine and zonked out at 9:00 PM on New Year's Eve then woke up early this morning to take Rob and his brother to the airport for a quickie boys trip to Vegas. Now that I have the house to myself I have comfortably donned my PJ's all day while watching back issues of Lipstick Jungle, painting my nails, snacking on turkey bacon (my favorite, but the smell drives Rob crazy, so I try not to cook it when he is around...considerate, huh.) and trying to summon up some energy to do laundry or something. No luck on the last one yet, maybe tomorrow.
Today is also my Mum's birthday, so here's a little Happy BD for you Mom...hope your day is fantastic! Hope everyone had a great New Years!

Weekend Review

Friday night we met up with some friends for dinner at Buca di Beppo. I like to do Italian, but Rob always says that he hates spending $20 on spaghetti. So I tell him not to order spaghetti! I had to laugh when we ordered...I decided on lemon chicken and he got spaghetti. It was $65 later he was still hungry so we had to pick up some McDonald's for him on the way home since he was still hungry. :) There were some couples at dinner that we had not met before. While talking to one couple we discovered that they live 3 doors down from us...such a small world!

Rob had a big paper for school he had to work on all weekend, so I was pretty much on my own. Instead of running errands and crossing things off my To Do List, I chose to be completely unproductive.

I am usually not a big TV watcher, but this weekend consisted of more TV in two days than I usually watch all month long! Recently I have discovered the convenience of watching my favorite shows online and use the weekend to catch up on a few of them. Over the weekend I watched SIX episodes of 24 (bringing me to the end of the most recent season), Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy, Dirty Sexy Money, The Office, two episodes of 30 Rock, 4 episodes of Heroes, Sex and the City: The Movie (again) and in keeping with our Academy Award Winner Sunday night plan, Quiet on the Western Front (yawn!). I am SO TV'd out!
