Rabbits

My car is in need of a new alternator (my bank account says 'Boo!'), so I was given a loaner car to drive around while my darlin' is out of commission. The dealership gave me a VW Rabbit. Cute car. As I pulled away in it I was reminded of another VW Rabbit. One my G & G Pickup had when I was younger.

I remember thinking that it was the coolest little car and that I want to drive it. And from that thought, my mind wandered to all of the other memories I have of my Grandparent's place.

The remainder of my drive home I played a little slide show in my head of all the great memories I had of visiting my Grandparents on their farm in California. And let me tell ya...it was a really nice drive home.

LA

This past weekend I was able to spend some quality time with a good friend in LA. We spent a few days shopping, talking and just driving around taking in the nice weather. It just so happened that our hotel was situated right between two great malls. Needless to say, we put in a lot of time and money there! It was also in LA that I discovered my new all-time favorite food, or I guess I should say snack...Pinkberry. This yogurt is amazing! Oh, and did I mention that it was fat free!?! I think that it is common knowledge that I am not a huge fan of California, but I am seriously considering relocating to The Golden State just to be close to my new love: original yogurt with strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. I know this sounds a little extreme, but believe me...it would be SO worth it! I think that I might be able to get Rob on board. :)

I couldn't resist diving right in before snapping a picture of it. This is perfection!

Since I am already on the subject of great food, actually this again is a snack...Sprinkles cupcakes was another discovery. While I am not normally a big cupcake person, I did develop pretty intense feelings for the red velvet cupcake. I was hoping they would have their infamous peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes baking the day of our visit, but sadly they weren't. No worries though...there were still plenty of flavors to choose from. Rob is a HUGE lover of cake, so I knew that this place would have been heaven for him. On the way to the airport we stopped to pick up a few more for the folks back home...they were quite well received at my house.

YUM!

We also went to see Wicked...it was so great! The theatre it was in was really beautiful. It was much funnier than I had expected. We were actually quite lucky to get seats at the last minute.

I finally got to see the movie Mama Mia too. I was singing the songs in my head all night! It was really cute! One morning we visited Westwood Cemetery, which is a little cemetery in the middle of the city. There are a number of famous people that are buried there. It was kind of a neat, and slightly odd experience. Overall, the trip was pretty great. I had a wonderful time catching up and just goofing off. Thanks for the good time M! :)

We are hopping on the blog bandwagon...

The past month has been quite busy for us. At the end of May we took a quick trip to the Bay Area where we spent some time in Monterey, Pebble Beach and San Francisco. It was our third trip there, so we didn't really do anything new or touristy. It was a relaxing laid back trip where we just hung out together...much needed!!

Look at all of those seals...or are they sea lions???

SF classic - the cable car!

The day we arrived back from California we moved from our small, cramped 2 bedroom 1 bath in Sammamish to a spacious 2 bed 2 bath with a garage in the Issaquah Highlands. The extra bathroom is the most exciting thing about it. Who knew that us sharing a bathroom could be so hard?!? We also love the garage (so that I can store all of my *junk*) and Sox loves the extra room to run around - especially all of the stairs.

This past weekend my brother Ryan and his wife Melanie flew up from Utah to see us. It was so nice to get to spend so much time with them. Ryan had never been to Seattle before, so it was really fun to show him around. Rob and I really don't take advantage of all there is to do around here. Having company gave us a great excuse to get out and do some fun things that we haven't done in awhile. We hit a comedy club, played some pool, took in a Mariners game and ate out alot! The time flew by so fast, but we really enjoyed being able to hang out with them. They are such a fun couple!!
