Vegas, party of 9!

I figured I ought to post about our Vegas trip before too much time passes and I forget all about it. I lost misplaced our camera right before the trip, so all of our pics are courtesy of my camera phone. Translation: they are all crap. But hey, they'll do!

Rob and I met up with my brother Ryan, his wife Melanie, my brother Tyler, his wife Lindsey, their son Lyndon, and my brothers Chase and Jordan down in Las Vegas last weekend. Or maybe it was the weekend before?? Time flies!
So many pictures warrant a slideshow if you ask me...

It'd been so long since we'd seen Lydon, so we were so excited to play with him. He was so much fun...can't wait until we see him at Thanksgiving. Oh, along with Tyler and Lindsey...of course!

We had such a great time with us all together, but we really missed the rest of our family that wasn't there. Jason, Courtney and their kids just moved from Las Vegas to TN, so we missed them lots! I would say it'd be fun if Mom and Dad had come down too, but I am sure they loved having all of us out of their hair and the place all to themselves. Who knows what they did!
We had loads of fun...can't wait to do it again!

This week...

My mane got a big chop last night. It makes me a little sad.
My bangs look like they were cut by a right-y kindergartner...with left-y scissors. I am trying to make do. :)
All I keep hearing from people is 'they will grow out soon'.
Thanks.

Oh, and I got walked in on by my boss while taking pictures of my new do.  He laughed at me.  Charming guy he is. :)
On a more positive note...we are heading off to Sin City this weekend to meet up with some friends and family and we are so stinkin' excited!!
Nothing big on the agenda so far...we're crashing at Caesar's and plan to take advantage of the pool.
I am hoping to convince Rob to take me to Phantom, but I am not holding my breath. Apparently, if you've seen it once, there is no reason to go again. I think that's debatable.
Oh, and a Happy Birthday to my bestie (and new neighbor!!!) who turns twenty-something tomorrow!!

21 on the pier

Saturday night we headed over to Carillon Point in Kirkland to watch the weekly outdoor movie.
There are several places in the area that host outdoor movies during the summer so there is always something good playing at one of them.
After the super hot days we have been having lately, the weather cooperated wonderfully and it was a perfect evening to spend down by the water.

The movie was 21. Neither of us had seen it before, but had heard OK things about it. It really got us in the mood to head to Vegas.
Not like we could count cards or anything, but it made us wish we could. :)

We brought our comfy little camping chairs, but we got there early enough to score this great bench for our seats.
BluWater Bistro was in the same pavilion, so we grabbed some of their crab legs and pizza for dinner then used our camping chairs as tables/TV trays.

It was quite the great set up!
The movie ended up being only so-so and incredibly predictable, but we had a fun time.
They are showing Twilight in a couple weeks and I am working on getting Rob to go. Good luck, I know.

We had a great time!

Las Vegas was a lot of fun! We arrived early Friday morning and wandered around all day. We visited the Bellagio for one of our favorite pasttimes...people watching. There is this great little cafe seating area right by their pool entrance that provides the best people watching experience. I know that sounds really weird, but it is one of our stops everytime we visit Vegas.

One of my favorites things about the Bellagio is their seasonal conservatory decorations. The theme this time didn't rank anywhere near the top, but it was still fun. There was a mini Bellagio replica that was actually really neat.

Here is Rob posing in front of the Mt. Rushmore mini replica they had. I thought that these bears were kind of fun looking. They change their decorations seasonally and they are always really original looking. The winter decorations are always my favorites!

Friday night we went to a Cirque du Soleil show at the NY NY called Zumanity. It was such a disappointment! We have seen a couple of the Cirque shows and thought we knew what to expect, but this was far from what we had in mind. We were really bummed because this was the only opportunity we would have to see a show and it was as waste. On Saturday we were lazy and laid around all morning until Jason came and picked us up.

We got to play with the kids for a few hours. Here is a picture of Rob with Parker. Rob keeps saying that he doesn't like little babies, but that is so not true! I had to fight with him to get some Parker time of my own. He is such a happy, smiley red-headed baby.

Apparently I am not very photogenic, as this is the best picture of me that I could find from our whole trip....and Macee is the one that took it. Those short arms make for quite the close up when the photographer is only four! As I was searching through the handful of pictures we took looking for one of me to post I came to the realization that I REALLY don't do well in the heat...I look terrible! I am way too embarassed to post the evidence, so you will all have to believe me...it isn't pretty!

That same night we attended a Ultimate Fighting Champion party with Jason and Courtney. Jason is quite into it, which I found a little surprising. It certainly was entertaining to see how into it the rest of the guys were too. Luckily I was able to sneak into the other room with the girls and chat with all of the fight noise in the background. We had a great time with Jason and Courtney...they are a lot of fun to be around. Too bad were aren't able to see them more often.

Happy early 4th to Everyone

We are off to Vegas early in the morning (our flight leaves at 6 AM!) for three days full of who knows what. Perhaps we will venture to be a little bit exciting so that we have something to post when we get back. Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend...Happy Independence Day!

I cannot believe that June is over!

The month has just flown by. The weather up here has been heating up quite a bit. It has been in the 90's these past couple of days. Rob doesn't so much mind the heat, but I cannot stand it. I would definitely rather be cold than hot. I don't know what I was thinking when I agreed to go to Las Vegas over the 4th...they are in the 100's. Crazy! This week is going to be a short work week for me and I couldn't be happier. I didn't go into work today (I had to take today off to have an endoscopy) and then Friday we go to Vegas...this week should be a breeze!

The countdown to Vegas is on!

Rob and I have just made plans to be in Las Vegas over the 4th of July and are really looking forward to it. We have an Alaska Airlines companion pass that expires in a couple weeks and didn't want it to go to waste. Not that we really need an excuse to go there! It is extra fun because we always get to see Jason and his family while we are down there. Hopefully they can make some time for us...we haven't seen them since we were down there for Christmas. I am sure that their kids have changed so much!

We are going to stay at the New York, New York (for the first time). It is strange that we visit Las Vegas so much (we have been at least a dozen times!) because we do not engage in any of the typical Las Vegas past times. Neither of us drink, we don't really do any gambling (we occasionally play the slots when we need a break and just want to sit down), and we do not frequent the pool scene either. We just wander around the shops (yes, the same ones we have at home), and go to the movies (yes, again...the same ones that are playing at home), and usually catch a show or two. We do always have a great time. We love Las Vegas!!
