We love U2!

Saturday we finally got to see U2. We bought the tickets last year, but the tour was postponed. Glad it was just postponed and not canceled!

The weather was perfect for an outdoor concert, which isn't always the case in Seattle.

Lenny Kravitz opened for them. I'm a big LK fan, so this was a big bonus for me.

They put on a fantastic concert and played most of my favorite songs.

Those U2 guys...not too shabby.

Always be prepared

We're squeezing in a 22 hour road trip this weekend.
Daunting? Perhaps.
I've got my necessities all prepared...Diet Pepsi and loads of Glee music to keep me awake.

Pretty sure this music is going to drive Rob crazy, but only at first. I'm betting that by hour seven I can have him singing along. What do you think? ☺

What I learned over the weekend – Vancouver, BC edition

~I love being surprised with last minute weekend getaways.
~I really love the guy who so frequently surprises me with these little trips.
~Hotels.com idea of four stars differs a little from ours.
~At a glance, hotel conditioner and lotion can easily be confused with one another.
~Once applied to the hair, the difference between lotion and conditioner is extremely apparent.
~My camera phone takes crap pictures...as you can see.
~Rob has a playlist on his iPod hilariously titled Party Jams.
~Not a single jam on this playlist is party-like, in any way.
~Vince Vaughn and Kevin James are both funny men, but together a not-so-funny movie they make.
~Canadian Mountain Dew contains NO caffeine.

I am so jealous of Utah

MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice
February 27th - McKay Events Center

One show only. It only makes sense that the show be in Utah, right?

Don't you all run out to buy tickets at once...

I never should have moved away!

Thanks for the heads up Trav; funniest thing ever. :)

Me = better than Celine

I love Celine Dion's Christmas album. I even listen to it in the off season (middle of the summer!) sometimes...that is just how much I like it. O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song and she does an amazing job with it. Why am I sharing this? It is a little bit of the back story that will help explain a crazy dream I had last week.
As the dream would have it, I was at a HUGE Celine Dion Christmas Concert (which for the record, I have never seen her in concert) and during the intermission there was a buzz throughout the audience that her voice had given out and she wouldn't be able to perform her last song...O Holy Night. What a disaster! That single song is the reason everyone was there! Suddenly I was pulled from my seat by men in black suits and earpieces and hustled backstage where and Ms. D herself begged me to cover the last song for her. Her entire staff agreed that I was the only one who could save her show. I of course declined her request...that is until I was told that I could wear the big HEART OF THE OCEAN (!!) necklace she donned for her Titanic/My Heart Will Go On performance. So naturally, I gave in.

Part of my performance was actually me, but in a Mr. Kruger's Christmas kind of way...the part where he dreams he is leading the Tabernacle Choir and everything is all-a-glow around him while he is gleaming a twirling around. The other part was as if I was in the audience watching myself. Either way, I was absolutely amazing! The highlight of the performance was when I held a really strong note for an extremely long time (about 4 1/2 minutes into it on the actual song) and then the entire auditorium erupted into applause. Unfortunately I woke up soon after that (stupid alarm clock!!) and didn't get to make a run for it with my new necklace, but I did feel a little French-Canadian for the rest of the day.
I don't really know where the dream came from. I know that I cannot sing and I don't like to be the center of attention, but it was still pretty cool! I wish I could remember my dreams that vividly more often. I am not tech enough to know how to insert the actual song into the post, but you can check out a YouTube clip of it here. When you watch it just remember, my performance was ten times what hers was...I seriously killed it!
I think that I have an old N Sync Christmas album somewhere...I might have to pull it out and take a listen. Maybe then I will dream that I am 16 again and the love interest in one of their videos. Lame, I know...but at 16 it would have been awesome!! :)

Jinglin' with Gap

I know it is a little early to start with the Christmas stuff, but I just cannot wait. Here is my favorite holiday Gap commercial. A little patience is required because it takes a little while to load, but it's definitely worth it!

I wonder if you can buy it?? The one with the guys and the bells is a good one too. I do not like the one with the Dixie Chicks and Sandra Bernhard. Come on Gap, step it up!! You can view them all here.

This is an amazing song!

I have just rediscovered one of my favorite songs! It is called The Ludlows from the Legends of the Fall soundtrack. The movie's music was done by James Horner, who is amazing. This song has been one that I have loved since the first time I heard it. The other day I accidentally selected it on my iPod when I meant to click on another song and am so happy that I did! I have listened to the entire soundtrack several times since then and watched the movie over again as well. I would highly recommend both to anyone. I am usually not a very artsy/musicy/feely type person, but this soundtrack is very moving. Ooh, that was a little too mushy for me, but I really do mean it...it's just that good!

I am not tech savvy enough to figure out how to place the actual song in this post, so to hear it you will have to click here to be redirected to the song on YouTube.
