We took advantage of the long weekend and took a mini vacay down to Portland to attend the Portland International Film Festival. It was really fun!!
And as if that wasn't enough we also saw two non-festival movies: Friday the 13th (not my choice!!) and The International. I tried to drag Rob to Confessions of Shopaholic, but had no luck!
I kept my eyes closed for most of Friday the 13th because it was too gory for me. My eyes were also closed for half of The International, but that was because I was so tired. I am too old to go to the 10:40PM showing...it's WAY past my bedtime! And, it wasn't really THAT great of a movie anyway.
We managed to fit in some shopping, sleeping in and a lot of eating...apparently one HAS to have popcorn in every single movie! We didn't get to see all the films we wanted to, but now we know how to plan better for next time.

Hi Janalyn, Sounds like a fun weekend. I love independent films. They seem to have more substance. I am becoming less tolerant of "fluff" movies these days. Have you seen Slumdog Millionaire? Excellent movie. xoxo
I so agree with the popcorn thing...it's a must.
My husband and I saw the International too. The first part was pretty slow, but that action scene was pretty crazy! Plus nothing was really resolved at the end so that kinda sucked too.
I also saw Confessions of a Shopaholic with some girlfriends (no way the hubby would go!) Honestly it was the worst movie ever! But I hate chick flicks so maybe my opinion doesn't count. If you do see it don't be surprised when the mannequins start talking. Just a warning :)
I am so happy you had a great time. I love to hear about your vacation adventures. I am glad you had a good time at the film festival. The only film festival we have ever been to was horrible. I think it will be a long time before we try the whole independent movie thing again. :)
